Meet Dr. Mylonas Georgios

Dr. Mylonas Georgios is a Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist and Medical Acupuncture Specialist, with a private practice in Trikala, Greece. He graduated from the University of Ioannina School of Medicine in 2011 and went on to gain clinical experience in the Department of Psychiatry at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.

In 2014, he began his specialist training in Psychiatry at the State Therapeutic Centre of Leros, where he worked in the acute psychiatric unit, psychosocial rehabilitation services and PIKPA. He subsequently worked at Fountain Way Hospital in England, a psychiatric hospital with specialist units in old age psychiatry, adult psychiatry and psychiatric intensive care. He completed his Psychiatry residency at the Third Department of Psychiatry of AHEPA University Hospital in Thessaloniki.

Dr. Mylonas trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy and completed a multi-year programme in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). He also completed a two-year programme in Medical Acupuncture, certified by ICMART. He worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Department of Psychiatry of the University Hospital of Larissa, where he served as Clinical Lead for the old age psychiatry unit. In 2023, he completed an MSc in Neuroscience and Neurodegenerative Diseases at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

His practice provides care across the full spectrum of mental health needs, including psychotherapy, medication management or a combination of both. He also offers acupuncture sessions for smoking cessation and pain-related conditions, such as migraines, lower back pain, knee pain and neck pain syndromes. The practice offers parking and easy access for older adults, people with mobility difficulties and people with disabilities. Home visits and online appointments are also available.
