Dr Georgios Mylonas, psychiatrist – psychotherapist · Last updated: 31/10/2026

Every article on this site is written and approved by Dr Georgios Mylonas, relies on named sources you can open yourself, and carries a date. This page explains how that works, so you can decide how far to trust what you read.

Who writes the articles

The articles are written and approved by Dr Georgios Mylonas, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist in Trikala with specialist training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). He sees patients in Trikala, Karditsa and Kalambaka, and online across Greece. You can read more on the about page. The articles are educational. They do not replace an individual assessment.

How we choose and check sources

We prefer, in this order:

  1. Clinical guidelines and patient information from public health bodies, for example NICE, the NHS, the NIMH and the CDC.

  2. Systematic reviews, meta-analyses and expert consensus statements indexed in PubMed.

  3. Single studies, only when we also say what they cannot show.

Every medical claim is followed by a numbered source with a link. Before we cite a paper we check its title, year, journal and DOI against PubMed. If we cannot verify a claim, we leave it out. When the evidence is small, weak or based on self-reports, the article says so.

What we do not do

  • We do not give doses or compare medicines. A medicine is named only in a dated statement of what is available in Greece, never as a recommendation.

  • We do not promise results or a prescription. Whether medication is appropriate is decided after an appointment, based on the full assessment.

  • We do not invent figures or use unsourced statistics.

  • We do not publish patient data, cases or testimonials. Examples are general and never describe a real person.

Review and updates

The date at the top of an article is the date Dr Mylonas last reviewed and approved it, not just the date the page was edited. Articles are reviewed at least once a year, and sooner when a guideline changes. We date everything for a reason. When guidance changes, an old article can mislead you, because medicine moves and advice that was right two years ago may not be right today.

Corrections

If you spot an error, an outdated statement or a broken link, please write to Georgios.w.milonas@hotmail.com. We check it, correct the article and update its date.

How to use the articles

An article can help you decide whether it is time to ask for help. The threshold is not discomfort alone. It is whether the difficulty keeps getting in the way of your work, your relationships or your daily life. An article cannot diagnose you. If an assessment makes sense, we look at your situation together, the options are laid out and the decisions are made together. You can read about adult ADHD assessment, browse the articles or book an appointment. See also our privacy policy, terms and cookies policy.

If you are in immediate danger or thinking of harming yourself, call 112 or your local emergency number.
